Upstate Institute, Colgate University, Hamilton, NY The mission of the Upstate Institute is to create linkages between Colgate University and the regional community to engage students, faculty, staff and residents in research and a reciprocal transfer of knowledge that will enhance the economic, social and cultural capacity of the area and sustain the environment. These projects provide a model of community collaboration and civic engagement for our students and within higher education. The Institute values scholarly collaboration as a way to support the region. The Upstate Institute has been a stalwart partner of the National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum since its inception in 2004. |
Morrisville State College, Morrisville, NY Morrisville State College integrates entrepreneurial activity into most of its curricula, emphasizing experiential learning in real-world laboratories on campus. The college offers more than 75 bachelor and associate degrees and options. Considered one of the most technologically advanced colleges in the nation for its ThinkPad University program and wireless technology initiative. Morrisville State College hosted the first commemoration of inductees October 2006 and again in October 2008. Faculty, Students and Staff from the Hospitality and Tourism Convention program, the Journalism department and the IT department have been involved in the planning of NAHOF&M annual events. |
Madison-Oneida BOCES Verona, NY The Madison-Oneida Board of Cooperative Educational Services, in Verona, NY, is the intermediate educational agency for the area in which the National Abolition Hall of Fame & Museum is located. In short, this means that Madison-Oneida BOCES uses the shared resources of a number of school districts to efficiently provide services to those districts, their staff, and their children. This partnership provides the districts with grant writing, staff development, Career and Technical Education, and much more including connections with over 100 businesses and community agencies, including the National Abolition Hall of Fame & Museum. |
